Marching Band Baton Twirler “Off In Her Own World”

After the first two home games of the Edison Knights football season it was clear that Tammy James, baton twirler for the marching band, was “off in her own world.” That according to pretty much anyone who actually bothered to watch the halftime show rather than use the restroom, smoke a joint, or convert to Satanism.

“It was like, there the band is, marching and playing in unison,” says fellow student Grace Powell. “But then there’s Tammy, twirling her batons and kicking and smiling, throwing one baton up in the air, dropping it and picking it up again without missing a beat, always smiling. Weird.”

Connie Roberts, mother of Knights defensive end Craig Roberts, agrees. “I always thought she was such a pleasant girl, very smart and normal. I had hoped he would ask her to Homecoming this year—but after seeing that trance she enters while prancing around in that sequined leotard with those damned batons, I think maybe she ought to see a therapist.”
